Tonight Kevin and I attended our first Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley (PPSV) meeting. We’ve tried to attend for several months now but each time we’ve had scheduling conflicts. So *finally* after much waiting, we attended the February event. To make a long story short, the meeting was phenomenal. The members were extremely friendly, several of the sustaining members had booths setup and presented very professional displays and lots of new products.
The presenter this month was Janice Wendt, Nik Software’s “leading authority and ambassador“. With a title like that, you must be A.) Reallllly, really, really great at your job and B.) Recognize that you are expected to be the absolute authority on the software. Trust me, she didn’t disappoint. In fact, I’m not even certain if that title is authoritative enough for her knowledge. The demonstration was fantastic and I felt somewhat like I was watching an infomercial, not because the product was gimmicky, but because the software was so powerful, has functionality like no other product on the market, and allowed granular controls over the editing. By the end of the demo, Kevin and I both knew that this product was a must have.
If you’re not familiar with the Nik software Suite, it’s definitely worth a look.
PS: Just a quick thanks to Todd and Barbara for your continued help, especially the carpool for Kevin :)
