Ella at 11 months – Cherry Blossom Park

Woo hoo, my 3rd personal post on this site. Perhaps I’ll start making them more common place? Time will tell…

We’re starting to prepare for Ella’s 1 year birthday party and we knew that we wanted a really cute photo for the invitations. The problem with this idea is getting everyone into the photo. I’m always behind the camera so, virtually every photo that exists of Ella is without me in it. Very uncool.

To get me out of this bind, I contacted my friend (and fellow photographer) Stacey Marsh, shes done some amazing work that you can see on her own studio Lovely You Photography. We planned the shoot, and everything was going according to plan. The morning we woke up, it was a beautiful Saturday, sun shining, warm temps = perfect. I picked a 4:30 shoot hoping for the best light. Then, while driving over to the park it happened… raindrops begin hitting the window. Needless to say, it lightly rained for most of the shoot, but not enough to cause any problems. I wish I could say the same for the mosquitoes which are already in full effect!

Stacey provided some really cool vintage props and an Ella-sized chair which was a huge help. Despite the rain, mosquitoes, cloudy skies, and flat light the pictures turned out to be amazing! It’s always fun to turn so-so conditions into really great photography. Plus, it was a really nice change of pace to be on the other side of the lens. Thanks again Stacey!

    Hi Nicole,

I don’t recall the name of the park, it’s located in Citrus Heights somewhere near Madison and Manzanita… wish I had more info, hope that helps?!
