Football vs Fútbol

We absolutely love trying new concepts and ideas during engagement shoots, which is why we were really looking forward to this engagement shoot. Larry and Kristina’s wedding isn’t until April 2011, but they were anxious to get some engagement photos and send out their ‘save the dates’. When we started talking about the engagement shoot they both mentioned that they were very big sports fans, Kristina=Fútbol and Larry=American Football. Not having done a shoot like this, we knew it would present some technical challenges and be a learning experience… not to mention a lot of fun.

The day started off a little chaotic, I had the perfect soccer field to shoot on, but when we arrived there was a huge soccer tournament underway. Ugh! We tried a few other locations but everything was in use. Fortunately, we were able to find a suitable location, even if it *did* include a little trespassing. Kevin claims there wasn’t a sign posted, but… who knows :) The sports shots were a blast and I think we did a respectable  job at showcasing sports + an engagement. We concluded by going into Old Sacramento and finishing the evening around the rail yards. Thanks again L&K, we’ll see you in April!

PS: For the record, Kristina scored at least 80+% of those penalty kicks (sorry Larry!)
