Redesigned Website! 0

September officially marks the 1 year anniversary for Bryan Green Photography! It’s been quite the amazing year, and we’ve been busier and more successful then we could have ever imagined. I can only imagine what the upcoming year will bring, although we’ve certainly got some idea’s and predictions up our sleeves; time will tell.

The new website is officially launched, and this post is the first on the new platform. It’s entirely revamped, no more Adobe Flash so iPhone/iPad users can finally view our content. The best part for me is the clean integration between the blog and the website. Check back often for updates, we have a great deal of content that’s backlogged.

Laura and Travis Wedding 0

When Laura contacted me about shooting her wedding I knew there would be something very special about the event, fortunately my instincts were 100% accurate.

When we originally met and started to discuss the details of the wedding I couldn’t help but imagine how great everything sounded. As it turns out, her fiance Travis was in the Marine Corps and the wedding was going to be the weekend before Memorial Day weekend… oh, and on a golf course! Honestly, can you find something more patriotic and fun!? Interestingly enough, her dad also happens to be the Battalion Chief of the local fire department. I’m definitely a sucker for all things patriotic, I’m sure that has a lot to do with serving in the Air Force, combine that with photography and my obsession with golf and you have a recipe for a perfect event.

As you can tell from the photo’s, the wedding and the reception were fantastic, fun people, a great venue, and perfect weather – albeit a little windy. Laura and Travis have amazing chemistry and because they were having so much fun together, we couldn’t help get caught up in the moment as well. Laura was such a good sport, Kevin and I somehow convinced her to hit a golf ball in heels and her dress. A foursome was nice enough to stop their round and let us borrow their driver and donate a few golf balls.

Best of luck Travis and Laura, your day was amazing and I can only imagine how fun your new life will be in Hawaii!!!

PS: Since we never had our opportunity for the Engagement shoot, we’ll have to discuss a 1 year anniversary shoot in Hawaii, my bags are packed :)

Tour of California 0

Press Conference:

Kevin and I were fortunate enough to be selected by the City of Davis to photograph and document the first two stages of the  Tour of California. This is obviously quite the honor and privilege. These photo’s are from the Press Conference at the Sacramento Convention Center. The event started with AMGEN presenting Mayor Kevin Johnson a symbolic Yellow Jersey, then followed by a Q&A session. I have a pretty good feeling about Levi winning the event again,.. time will tell :)

Stage 1 (Nevada City to Sacramento)

We got an early start on the day and headed to Nevada City, which as it turns out is a really cool and historic mining town. The event was jam packed with people which created a very electric atmosphere. Fortunately, we arrived in time to see Team Radio Shack prep their bikes, sign autographs, and make it into the background of a SRAM commercial being filmed at the start of the event – not quite my 15 minutes of fame but maybe 2 seconds of it. The race ended with HTC rider Mark Cavendish sprinting to a decisive victory.

Hailey Senior Photo’s 2

Sometimes in life things just all come together, that was definitely the case for this photoshoot. Although our original location didn’t work because of a special event, we didn’t miss a beat and found some other locations with a little creativity. I had no idea how awesome Hailey would be in front of the camera, she’s definitely a natural. From what I understand, I think she has aspirations to join the military… I’m thinking she should instead be headed for America’s next top model :) Whatever she decides after graduation, I wish her the best of luck!

What an absolutely perfect Spring day for a photo shoot, and it couldn’t have been with a nicer family.

After some negotiating on the location, DeAnna made the decision to try the UC Davis Arboretum. As it turns out, this was a great choice – especially at this time of the year. The Arboretum is full of activity and events. I’d like the thank the crew of the musical HAIR for letting us take some shots on their set. I can’t imagine too many families have portraits done inside a psychedelic 1960′s VW bus :)

Ella, 6 days old 0

What an amazing time in our lives, our baby Ella was born exactly 6 days ago. It’s almost impossible to imagine that she’s finally here. Her little features are adorable, and her little sounds are just hilarious.

I couldn’t resist the opportunity to setup a mini studio and get some shots. For the record, shooting newborns is quite the experience! A word to the wise, don’t use any props that you don’t plan on getting pee’d on! Sorry Cheetah chair! :)

This particular shoot was for a corporate client with very exact specifications regarding lighting and the setup. Of course we jump at any good opportunity to do proper studio work. As you can probably tell from the website and blog, the majority of our work is wedding, events, and portraits. The shoot was a great success and I’m proud to add this work to our portfolio. Thanks again Duncan, and we wish you continued success at your new firm.

Natalie & Aaron Engagement 2

Earlier last week, I headed downtown to shoot an engagement session for Natalie & Aaron, whose wedding I unfortunately won’t be shooting in October. It’s really unfortunately because they are doing a destination wedding in Hawaii! And trust me, I’m realllly craving some time on the beach and some of those Hawaiin Host Caramacs from the Maui airport :)

This fun and energetic and couple had great chemistry and were a blast to shoot. I always appreciate when a couple likes to add a little something different to the shot, they certainly didn’t disappoint. When Natalie first contacted me, she mentioned the possibility of bringing their dog Koala. I definitely liked the idea, but had some concerns about the distractions and complications of shooting downtown. In the end, bringing Koala worked out very well and really showed a personal side of their lives.

East Sac Pet Pals 0

Talk about the complete package. What do you get when you combine a fun, hard working, husband and wife team who run and amazing business? East Sac Pet Pals.

Debby and Rick pride themselves on earning your trust and building more of a friendship then a traditional business relationship. I initially found ESPP through the recommendation of a friend, then hired them to pet sit our (very) lazy greyhound. It’s really nice to be on vacation and have the assurance that everything is being taken care of at home. It’s no secret why their business thrives on its reputation and word of mouth.

The really unique thing about this shoot is that Deb and Rick never really hired me, I noticed their website was a little lot outdated and volunteered to do a quick photoshoot for them and revamp their website. Maybe I underestimated the amount of work this would take, but it will all be worth it in the end. To make a long story short, I mostly held up my end of the deal :)  Our baby daughter was born after the photoshoot, but before the website was complete.. so.. I’ve still got a little work to do.
